Dr. AHMED M. AL-HAZMI

An expert in environment and sustainability with over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors. His work covers climate change, clean development mechanism, environmental impact, environmental systems and compliance, and due diligence. Throughout his practice, he has developed strong interest in renewable energy as reflected in his more than 80 published and unpublished scientific articles, presentations, and studies. He acted as Advisor to international organizations like the World Health Organization Middle East, the UN Environment Programme, etc. on issues including air quality strategy, cleaner production, and environmental health impact assessment. He is a scientific referee of funded environmental research projects for the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, and also a member of different local and international associations such as the Energy & Climate Change Leadership Group of the International Council of Chemicals Association (ICCA). He is member of the Saudi Arabia Designated National Authority for climate change and Clean Development Mechanism. He was the General Manager of Environmental Affairs Department in SABIC Headquarters. Currently, he is the General Manager of Madar Al-Bea, an Environmental Consulting firm, and Advisor for the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association’s (GPCA) Responsible Care Advocacy.
